A BIT ABOUT AMY

Amy Wood has always had a passion for design and artistic pursuits, but also deeply cares about human connection and how user experience intertwines with design. At Boise State University, Amy was led to earn a minor in User Experience Research by her wonderfully inquisitive philosophy teacher. She interned for the Applied Research & Consumer Access and Experience Department at St. Luke’s Hospital in Nampa, ID and completed her UXR Capstone for the department to improve their intern onboarding process for all parties involved.

She fell in love with how User Experience Research and Design positively affects everything we touch, everything we interact with as people in this world. With her Illustration and User Experience Research background and having spent her entire career in customer service, Amy brings the best of both worlds to the User Experience Design table. By working with Amy, you’ll not only receive creative solutions to your business goals but also ones driven by a desire to improve interface aesthetics without sacrificing functionality.

Designing Healthy Communities VIP Poster

The Designing Healthy Communities VIP is a partnership between the Boise State Anthropology Department and the St. Luke’s Applied Research Division. Our team of Boise State students and St. Luke’s researchers are conducting qualitative user experience research in Nampa, Idaho. Phase one of our project consists of investigating the social determinants of health affecting patient access to healthcare through surveys and interviews. Phase two of our project is comprised of observing the patient clinical experience in St. Luke’s Nampa community clinics. Our mission is to collect data on what challenges our fellow community members in Nampa experience while using the St. Luke’s services available to them. St. Luke’s hopes to incorporate this knowledge into their systems, policies, and community clinics to better serve the Nampa population.
